Whats the same and different use Stainless steel 304 material mesh filter screen VS Stainless steel 316 material mesh filter screen?

304 is 06Cr19Ni10, 304L is 00Cr19Ni10;

316 is 0Cr17Ni12Mo2, 316L is 00Cr17Ni14Mo2.

316 stainless steel is the stainless steel produced by adding some molybdenum to the pitting corrosion resistance of 304 stainless steel. In various types of water (distilled water, drinking water, river water, boiler water, etc.), the corrosion resistance of 304 stainless steel and 316 stainless steel is almost the same, but when the content of chloride ions in the medium is very high, 316 stainless steel is more suitable.

The carbon content of 304L and 316L is lower than that of 304 and 316, and there is a clear contrast in the material content table. Stainless steel does not rust mainly because of the chromium-rich oxide film formed on the surface, but when the temperature is too high, intergranular corrosion will occur. Therefore, the low carbon content in 304L and 316L reduces the intergranular corrosion. It should be noted that higher intergranular corrosion sensitivity does not mean that non-low carbon content is more likely to be corroded. When in a high-chlorine environment, this sensitivity is also higher.

2205 duplex stainless steel is composed of 22% chromium, 3% molybdenum and 4.5% nickel-nitrogen alloy (austenite-ferritic) duplex stainless steel (referred to as 2205 duplex steel). 2205 duplex stainless steel is a nitrogen-added duplex stainless steel. It has high strength, good impact toughness and good overall and local stress corrosion resistance. 2205 duplex steel is especially suitable for the temperature range of -50°F/+600°F.

In terms of corrosion resistance, especially under the conditions of harsh media environment (such as sea water, high chloride ion content), the resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion, stress corrosion and corrosion fatigue of duplex stainless steel is significantly better than that of ordinary austenite stainless steel.
